Insuring customers on their terms; New Allstate Insurance Agency opens for business in St. Catharines

ST. CATHARINES, ON, Jan. 8, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) --
Today, Chris Kiah, President and CEO, Christianne Dostie, Executive Vice President, and Tim Currie, Assistant Vice President, Allstate Canada, were on hand to celebrate the official grand opening of the new Allstate Insurance Agency in St. Catharines. They were joined by Tracy Geoffroy of the United Way, an organization that Allstate has partnered with for over 50 years in making communities stronger. Earlier today, Dostie was in Niagara Falls attending the opening of another new Agency.

In 2007, Allstate announced that it was going to enhance its agent distribution model in order to better respond to customer expectations and to the demands of a changing marketplace and introduced the new Allstate Insurance Agency.

"The Allstate Insurance Agency is more than just a new business model. It is a unique and fresh approach to providing consumers with the insurance products they need - and on their terms," Dostie said. The new Allstate Insurance Agency creates a consistent delivery model by providing consumers with access to a team of experienced and knowledgeable Allstate agents who will each be accountable for managing specific aspects of a customer's needs. In each Agency there will be:

<<
- An Allstate Agent who will create and develop the relationship at new
business;
- An Allstate Agent who will expand the relationship by identifying
additional features to meet changing and evolving insurance needs; and
- An Allstate Agent who will strengthen the relationship at renewal and
provide customer service and support.

"In the short few weeks our office has been open, the clients that have come in have not only noticed the distinction between the two models, but have commended us on Allstate's ongoing efforts to improve upon the overall Customer Experience. They truly do appreciate the new team atmosphere and efforts being made towards putting their needs first. "Service Excellence and Value-Add" -- the new Allstate Agency model not only prides itself on this statement, we commit to it every day with our customers," said Steve Way, Agency Manager of the St. Catharines location.

At the end of 2008, there were 80 new Allstate Insurance Agencies open for business in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Alberta and Ontario. Upon completion there will be 93 new Agencies across Canada.

"I have heard first hand how impressed they are with our team approach and the level of service they are receiving from our agents. With every new AIA that opens, we take another step towards providing a consistent level of customer service that will be unparalleled in the industry," Dostie added.

Allstate Insurance Company of Canada produces and distributes home and auto insurance products right across Canada. The "Good Hands Network" enables consumers to contact Allstate through one of our over 500 exclusive community-based agents, directly on-line at www.allstate.ca, and through the Customer Contact Centre at 1-800-ALLSTATE.
