OpenSpan and Tibco Partner on Desktop Integration

(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
OpenSpan, a provider of desktop productivity and SOA acceleration
software, and Tibco Software announced a technology and business
partnership designed to extend Tibco solutions to desktop environments.

According to the company, the partnership will enable Tibco
Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Business Process Management (BPM)
and Business Optimization solutions to integrate with desktop
applications without requiring changes to those desktop applications.

"The OpenSpan technology helps our joint customers service and event
enable any desktop application without changing the code and with
nearly zero impact to that application," said Tom Laffey, executive
vice president, products & technology at Tibco. "This is very powerful
because it allows any application to become a service endpoint, event
source or step in a BPM process and enables businesses to more broadly
take advantage of the increasing scope and velocity of information
available across the enterprise."

"By partnering with Tibco, a pioneer and leader in delivering SOA

enablement, business process management and business optimization
software, OpenSpan is further becoming an integral component of an
enterprise's SOA strategy," said Eric Musser, CEO of OpenSpan. "We look
forward to demonstrating how our combined software offerings will
enable organizations to take advantage of modern event-driven
architectures."
