Dr. Christina Lampe-Onnerud, founder and CEO of Boston-Power, a
provider of Lithium-ion batteries for portable power, shared her vision
for the vital role that next-generation energy storage can play to
offset global warming.

Dr. Lampe-Onnerud presented her remarks to 100 senior government
officials, business executives, environmentalists, academicians and
technologists assembled at the "Road to Copenhagen" conference in
Brussels, Belgium. "Road to Copenhagen" refers to the 2009 United
Nations Conference on Climate Change to take place in Copenhagen,
Denmark. The initiative builds on the Global Leadership for Climate
Action project launched in 2007 by the Club of Madrid and the United
Nations Foundation. The aim of Road to Copenhagen is to ensure that
business and other key strategic stakeholders have a direct input into
the post-Kyoto Protocol agreement process.

Dr. Lampe-Onnerud was invited to the Brussels conference as an expert
on energy storage and provided particular insight into the topic of
access to technology and capacity building. Her input and that of those
in attendance is reflected in the range of practical proposals put
forth on how to solve the climate change challenge. Also participating
in the conference were European Commission Vice President Margot
WallstrOm, former President of Ireland Mary Robinson and former Prime
Minister of Norway Gro Harlem Brundtland.

"In a time of global financial constraints we must invest in a future
of innovation, quality and sustainability," said Dr. Lampe-Onnerud. "It
is essential for businesses everywhere to take the lead in delivering
marketable solutions for sustainable development. The Road to
Copenhagen offers Boston-Power a unique opportunity to take a
leadership role in providing these types of solutions. We believe we
have a responsibility to join leaders from around the world in the
planning of a new international agreement on climate change."
