Lowell, MA -- BitWave Semiconductor, Inc., a fabless semiconductor
company and innovator of programmable radio frequency integrated
circuits (RFIC), has appointed industry veteran Dr. Gregory W. Sheets
as their new Vice President of Engineering. Greg joins BitWave's senior
management team during a key period as they begin volume shipments of
the patented BW1102 Softransceiver(TM) RFIC. Greg adds a powerful blend
of design expertise and managements skills to the engineering team as
BitWave continues development of its Softransceiver RFIC product
family. He will report directly to Dr. Mike Farese, President and CEO
of BitWave.

Greg joins BitWave from LSI Logic where he was responsible for managing
a global team of over 170 engineers developing multiple mixed-signal
ASICs. Greg also has prior experience from Agere, Seagate, and VTC. At
VTC, Greg led IC development and a startup activity to bring up VTC's
Colorado design center. BitWave expects that Greg's long history of
design engineering management and product development for high volume
production will enable him to immediately support BitWave's business
goals.

Dr. Mike Farese, commented, "Greg joins our team at a key milestone in
the BitWave story as we release our first Softransceiver RFIC to
production. BitWave will transition from research and development to
volume production during 2009. Greg will support that transition and
play a pivotal role in guiding future development of our next
generation RFIC. We are excited by Greg's deep experience in IC design
management, on-time product development programs, and proven
engineering leadership."

Dr. Sheets added, "Wireless IC Development teams have been challenged
to meet aggressive goals for cost, power and performance as the number
of frequency bands and wireless protocols included in each design have
increased." Sheets continued, "BitWave's reconfigurable Softransceiver
architecture addresses this problem and offers handset and femtocell
designers an innovative approach to system design to reduce chip count
and system complexity. I am thrilled to join BitWave at this very
exciting time and contribute to the overall growth of the company."

About BitWave Semiconductor

BitWave Semiconductor, Incorporated, is a fabless semiconductor company
and developer of the Softransceiver RFIC. Mobile devices using the
Softransceiver can operate on multiple frequencies and communication
protocols, giving consumers and businesses a broader choice of networks
and services. The Softransceiver allows network operators to offer
services on demand and allows manufacturers to build a single, low-cost
radio that can be used in any network, anytime, anywhere. All of these
benefits are achieved while lowering the total bill of materials,
increasing phone battery life and increasing radio performance. For
