[November 10, 2008] 8x8 Inc promotes Dan Weirich to president Tweet Nov 10, 2008 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- 8x8 Inc (Nasdaq: EGHT), a provider of 8x8 Virtual Office and Packet8 broadband business, residential, video and mobile communications services, on Friday (7 November) announced that Dan Weirich has been promoted to the position of president of the company, effective immediately. In his new role as president and CFO Weirich will oversee the day-to-day operations of the entire company. The company said that Weirich, who is the company's chief financial officer, vice president of finance and secretary, will take on the new responsibility in addition to his current duties. Bryan Martin, who previously was president of the company, will remain as chairman and chief executive officer. Weirich was named to his present position of CFO, VP of Finance and secretary in July 2006. Prior to that he was vice president of Operations of the company and before that director of Strategic Sales. Earlier Weirich served as VP, Business Development and VP, Asia Sales at iAsiaWorks Inc, as a manager in the Business Markets Group at Qwest Communications International Inc and as a financial analyst for Phoenix Network Inc.
