After a meeting with senior government officials here Friday, election commissioner M Sakhawat Hossain told reporters that mobile phone network will remain suspended from morning to evening of the voting day to bar anyone with wrong intentions. Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to take necessary steps so that the country's cell phone operators act accordingly. At present there are six mobile operators in Bangladesh. The market leader is Grameenphone, followed by Banglalink, AKTel, Warid, Citycell and state-run Teletalk. According to latest official statistics of the BTRC, the country 's total number of mobile users stood at 45.09 million in September. |
