[October 27, 2008] SimpleSignal partners with Chinook Hosting to deliver unified communications solution Tweet (Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SimpleSignal, a provider of hosted business telephone systems, has partnered with Chinook Hosting Corp, a hosted applications provider, to deliver a unified communications solution. SimpleSignal's hosted PBX offering, SimplyMobile, is built on BroadWorks VoIP platform from BroadSoft Inc, a provider of VoIP application software. BroadWorks is an extensible platform with an application programming interface (API) that facilitates the integration of hosted PBX with other business applications. The integration between the Chinook and SimpleSignal systems means that SimpleSignal's voice services can now work with other hosted applications provided by Chinook, including Dynamics CRM and SharePoint, facilitating the convergence of communications and business applications. The BroadWorks platform is understood to enable both companies to introduce a voice-enabled messaging solution that combines hosted PBX with Microsoft Exchange for a premium hosted communication offering, available on a subscription basis. SimplyMobile enables subscribers to listen to their e-mails and access items in Microsoft Outlook using voice commands from any telephone, including mobile devices. The solution also allows users to call Outlook contacts via voice commands on a mobile phone. No partnership financial details or product price details were disclosed.
