Integrien Previews VMware-specific Capabilities of Alive(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Integrien, a provider of intelligent systems management, previewed at VMworld new VMware-specific capabilities that will be featured in the next version of its flagship software offering, Alive. Driven by its support for a range of virtual environments, including VMware, Integrien said that Alive addresses the complexities of managing both physical and virtual environments to ensure the entire IT infrastructure effectively supports the performance requirements of mission critical applications and services. At the recent VMworld event in Las Vegas, Integrien showcased new analytics and VMware-specific visualizations in Alive that will arm organizations with an even more effective approach to virtual infrastructure performance management. Integrien also demonstrated a new Apple iPhone application that taps into Alive to allow remote VMware performance management. "One of the biggest issues that VMware administrators face when a mission critical application has been virtualized is that performance problems are immediately blamed on the virtual environment," said Steve Henning, VP of marketing for Integrien. "Because Alive integrates performance data from the entire IT infrastructure and analyzes it holistically, it can isolate performance problems to the true cause. For the first time a VMware administrator can show that the cause of a performance problem is not the VMware environment. Or if it is a virtual environment problem, they'll know exactly what virtual component behavior is causing the problem."
