CRG West Announces John Savageau as Chief Technology Officer


DENVER, CO — September 11, 2008 — CRG West is pleased to announce John Savageau’s (News - Alert) promotion to Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In his new role, Savageau will focus on growing CRG West’s peering offerings and its ICT infrastructure. Since 2003, Savageau most recently held the position of Managing Director where he was instrumental in CRG West’s forward-thinking growth and development.


 
Savageau has played an integral role in CRG West’s expansion from two data centers on the West Coast to its current footprint of eleven data centers in seven metropolitan areas across the U.S. Over the past five years, Savageau created CRG West’s Any2 Exchange platform, one of the largest and fastest growing Internet exchanges in the U.S., led the development of the company’s industry-leading branch-circuit monitoring system, and its online customer resource center. Savageau will continue in the role of CTO as a thought leader and evangelist of efficient and robust peering and interconnection platforms. In addition, he will continue to lead the company’s ongoing evaluation of technologies that shape communications, the Internet, and data center design and management.

Prior to joining CRG West, Savageau was CEO of MagicNet in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where he led Internet infrastructure development and provided data solutions to the rapidly growing mining industry.  As a pioneer in technology implementation, he has also held leadership positions at Pihana Pacific, Level (3) International, and Sprint (News - Alert) International/Global One, where he focused on global network deployment, data center development, and operations and international sales in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Savageau served as a career US Air Force officer and holds a Master of Science in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies and Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland.
