Flasma deploys Roku's BrightSign for floor-level art installation(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Flasma, a specialist in the display of moving images on the floor, has announced that it has chosen the BrightSign solid-state player made by Roku, a developer of products and software for digital media delivery, for a permanent floor-level video installation outside Howick Place in London, commissioned by Artwise Curators. Four of Roku's HD2000 BrightSign players will provide input to the screens, supplying synchronised footage that has been created by the British artist Idris Khan. The films were loaded into the BrightSign players using compact flash cards following conversion to high-definition MPEG2 format. According to Flasma, the company also has plans to use BrightSign players in future projects, including retail and point-of-purchase installations. Financial details of the deal were not released.
