(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Covergence, a provider of Session Border Control and Session Management
solutions, announced that it has named James M. Moran as its president
and chief executive officer.
Covergence said Moran brings over 20 years of experience as a senior
operating executive leading edocs, Virtusa, and CheckFree Corp. through
rapid growth.
"Making the transition to Voice over IP (VoIP) and Unified
Communications is just too complex and costly for most organizations,"
said Moran. "Covergence has developed a game-changing suite of
award-winning solutions that enable organizations to quickly transition
to VoIP, roll-out Unified Communications and recognize significant
telecommunication cost savings from the transition."
Moran was a co-founder and EVP, of Massachusetts-based edocs which was
the pioneer in delivery of enterprise-class web-based self service
solutions for the Global 1000 market. edocs was acquired by Siebel
Systems in 2005. His experience as a senior executive with Virtusa
Corp. and CheckFree Corp., recently acquired by Fiserv, rounds out his
skills as a hands-on leader, with significant experience in sales,
marketing and operations.
"Jim is the ideal choice to lead Covergence through its next stage of
growth," said Sean Dalton, General Partner, Highland Capital Partners.
"With the enterprise market rapidly emerging, Jim's strong enterprise
background and proven track record, combined with his ability to create
and manage high-performance teams will ensure that Covergence is well
positioned for its next phase of growth."
