Telos Gets NetCents Task Order to Sustain Organizational Message System for Air Force

(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
The Air Force announced it has awarded Telos Corp. a task order to
implement and sustain the Defense Message System (DMS), an
organizational messaging application used across the Department of
Defense.

Under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity task order, awarded
from the NetCents contract vehicle, Telos said it will provide labor
and services to the Air Force Defense Message System Program Management
Office, 754th Electronic Systems Group's Directorate of Operations, at
Maxwell Air Force Base, (Gunter Annex), Ala. The contract runs for one
base year with two, one-year option periods and is valued at more than
$6.3 million if all options are exercised.

"Under this order, we are providing technical and program management
support to sustain the Defense Message System for the Air Force," said
Mike Masters, VP of Xacta Messaging Solutions for Telos. "We are
excited about this win and look forward to supporting the DMS Program
Management Office with a complete suite of services, from Certificate
Authority Workstation operation and Directory Service management to the
help desk and additional administrative functions associated with DMS
functionality."

"This is a vital project from the Air Force's perspective, because it
is crucial that we sustain the system on which all Air Force
organizational messaging rides," said Thomas Emerson, DMS Program
Manager, 754th Electronic Systems Group.

DMS was developed to replace AutoDin, a post-World War II-era bulk
messaging system that enabled users to ship electronic memos via
military message centers.
