Delta and ExpressJet to terminate flying agreement

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) and ExpressJet have announced that all
ExpressJet Delta Connection operations will be ceased from 1 September
2008.

Currently, ExpressJet operates 23 ERJ-145 aircraft for Delta
Connection. These flights primarily run from Los Angeles and Salt Lake
City. Delta intends for some of these flights, including all of those
from operated from ExpressJet's Salt Lake City hub, to be awarded to
another Delta Connection carrier.

Don Bornhorst, senior vice president of Delta Connection, described the
termination as "a mutual agreement" that should cause minimal impact to
passengers.

Jim Ream, ExpressJet president and chief executive officer, stated that


the cessation of the ExpressJet Delta Connection operations is in the
best interest of ExpressJet, because of "the losses we were
experiencing from our Delta pro-rate flying combined with our ability
to return aircraft to the lessor".

Customers with flights affected by the termination will be contacted by
Delta and offered alternative flights or refunds.

You might consider picking up a ball, a somewhat easy task. But when you're asked to do it by building a robot first, the job probably doesn't seem quite as easy. This was the task that the Northern Lights Robotics Team was asked to accomplish this past year for the annual FIRST Competition. FIRST, is For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. The competition brings teams from all over the country, who also build similar robots. The Northern Lights Team took 16th out of 54 teams this year, and today they were in Dakota Square Mall starting preparations for next year's competition. Members wanted to showcase what they built, but they were also hoping to gain some interest. And we're here to recruit new members, maybe get some people involved, anyone who can help or just want to be part of the team.
