Tecore Debuts New Universal Mobile Network Core

Tecore Networks, a provider of GSM, CDMA, 3G and multi-protocol mobile
networks, said that it is introducing a complete, multi-technology
mobile network core on a single CPU blade.
Leveraging Tecore's patented software-defined architecture, Tecore
noted, the Universal Network Mobile Core delivers one or multiple core
network subsystems for GSM, CDMA, GPRS/EDGE, UMTS, EV-DO, Wi-Fi and
WiMAX, enabling systems integrators and original equipment
manufacturers to implement support for the most widely deployed mobile
technologies in a broad range of products and applications.
Details of the Universal Mobile Network Core include:
- Support for GSM, CDMA, GPRS/EDGE, UMTS, EV-DO, Wi-Fi and WiMAX from
common object code - All core network components: UMSC; MSC/VLR; CSCF;
HLR/HSS; GLR; AuC/AC; SMSC/MMSC; SGSN/GGSN; IN/SIP Application Server -
Supports up to 1 million BHCA and 1,000 SS7 transactions per second -
64-bit Linux-based processing, running on an Intel off-the-shelf blade,
supporting a wide range of hardware options including: ATCA; microTCA;
Compact-PCI; or simply a laptop - Can be adapted to run on alternative
Intel-based operating systems such as Windows, or on a PowerPC platform
such as Solaris - A wide selection of vocoders on software-based DSPs -
Security features including the major standards-based algorithms
