(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Sterling Commerce, an AT&T subsidiary, announced that its customer
ViewSonic, a provider of visual display products, was selected by
Managing Automation as a winner in the fourth annual Progressive
Manufacturing 50 Awards.

The Progressive Manufacturing 50 Awards Program recognizes 50 projects
that have achieved distinction in a core discipline defined by Managing
Automation as critical to business success in the years ahead.
ViewSonic was recognized for its data and integration mastery.

ViewSonic stated it develops, markets and supports a broad range of
innovative products including LCD monitors, LCD TVs, projectors,
digital signage displays and other display products. ViewSonic
implemented a true multi-enterprise service-oriented architecture (SOA)
to create a foundation for data and process integration that could be
used across its large and diverse community of suppliers and customers.
The multi-enterprise SOA has allowed ViewSonic to integrate its
business processes and IT systems with its partners including Office
Depot, Amazon, Circuit City, Costco, Fry s, Dixons and, most recently,
eBay.

ViewSonic defines itself as a company that s easy to do business with.
To deliver on this promise to suppliers and customers, each business
process that touches external organizations must be flexible and
reliable, said Paul Gonzalez, Global IT for ViewSonic. Leveraging
multi-enterprise SOA, ViewSonic now provides its business managers and
partners with unified, integrated, near real-time data that allows them
to be more nimble and make business decisions based on accurate
information. With these better business decisions comes competitive
advantage.
