VDC Display Systems Selects Sony Micro Devices as its Primary Supplier of QXGA LCOS Panels for it's Next Generation QXGA SIM(TM) Projector

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- VDC Display Systems (VDC DS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Video Display Corporation (NASDAQ: VIDE), announced today it has selected the SXRD QXGA LCOS panel from Sony Micro Device Group as their primary projection panel to be utilized in the new VDC DS QXGA SIM(TM) projection system.



This new state-of-the-art Sony Micro Device SXRD QXGA LCOS panel was developed to fulfill the projection visual requirements specific to high-end training, military and commercial simulation industries.

Utilizing the Sony Micro Device SXRD QXGA LCOS panel enables VDC DS to provide cost effective, high quality, high definition, high contrast, excellent black levels and 4:3 ratio simulation projection systems. The combination of VDC DS and Sony also ensures the customer long-term support of the QXGA SIM(TM) projection system, which is deemed critical for the simulation industry.
