eTelemetry Releases Rogue Access Point Detection Software

(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
eTelemetry, a company focusing on extracting real-time business
information from network activity, announced the release of rogue
access point detection and advanced alerting capabilities for Locate, a
network appliance that correlates people with their MAC address, IP
address, and switch port in real time.

The company said Locate 4.1 increases network security threat detection
by sending alerts when users, devices, and IP addresses appear on the
network. SNMP traps provide integration with existing network
management solutions. Locate 4.1 also features advanced reporting
capabilities that automatically identify potential rogue or
unauthorized access via Wi-Fi connections.

"The features in version 4.1 further enhance the endpoint visibility
provided by Locate and industry standard integration options, giving IT
departments a greater level of threat detection and network awareness,"
said eTelemetry President and CEO, Ermis Sfakiyanudis, "Locate's

benefits to an organization's network security are quickly realized."

Locate is built on eTelemetry's people-to-IP technology that identifies
the person, by name and complete contact information, behind an
anonymous IP address on an enterprise network.
