Tribold: Tribold Takes Centre Stage in Catalyst Program Showcase at TM Forum Management World 2008; Microsoft, BT and Telefonica sponsor demonstration of service delivery innovation

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
RDATE:16052008

London, UK -- Tribold will be playing a central role in a demonstration
of the TM Forum Catalyst Program's work in defining next generation
service delivery environments for telecom service providers at TM Forum
Management World, taking place in Nice between the 18th and 22nd May
2008. The demonstration, which will take place three times a day during
the event, will see Tribold present alongside Catalyst Program vendor
partners, including Microsoft, Accenture, CA, NetCracker and Iptivia,
and service provider partner Telefonica.

The Catalyst Program members will demonstrate how a network service
provider can:

-- Create, provision and assure the quality and reliability of new
offerings by assembling syndicated network- and application-based
services from best of breed third party vendors

-- Use a common industry framework, such as New Generation Operations
Systems and Software (NGOSS) and Service Delivery Framework (SDF), to
create a next generation service delivery environment

-- Add the capability to monitor the health and usage of the syndicated
SDF services across network and service providers

In its role in the demonstration, Tribold will provide the product
catalog and product lifecycle management (PLM) toolset to enable
business-led syndication of services to form customer-facing product
offerings. The Tribold Product Portfolio Management (Tribold PPM) will
receive services published up from the service catalog and will allow
the CSP business users to see what services are available to be
syndicated. The Product Manager will then use the Tribold Product
manager screens to "drag and drop" the services onto the product
packaging pallet and construct product offerings in real time,
including the ability to set pricing, market segmentation and SLA
details within the product offering. After completing the Product Offer
construction, or Service Syndication, the new offers are published out
into downstream systems, such as Order Management, Billing & CRM.

Michel Burger, service architect, Server and Tools, Microsoft,
commented: "It's a pleasure to be involved in the Services Syndication
Catalyst, both as a participant and sponsor. The future of innovation
in our industry is based around collaboration between best of breed
technology suppliers and this exciting project moves us closer to our
shared vision of a reusable service catalog which will help create new
business models for operators."

Sagrario Aleman Perez, Telefonica, added: "As a service provider, our
primary interest is in bringing new and valuable serves to market
quickly and cost-effectively. The only realistic way to do so is to
work closely with vendors, such as Tribold, and the others involved in
the Catalyst Program, and we're looking forward to showcasing the
results of our work at Management World 2008."

Ernest Margitta, product marketing director at Tribold, said: "The
Catalyst Program demonstration will show how the BSS/OSS industry can
benefit enormously from the componentization of services which allows
for a reusability missing today. Tribold's centralized product catalog
is an essential building block in service syndication and we're
delighted to be playing a central role in shaping the new model."

The Catalyst Program is the TM Forum's living lab, enabling service
providers, system integrators and hardware/software vendors to work
together to solve common, critical industry challenges. The program
provides an opportunity for multi-company, multi-national teams to work
together in a collaborative environment with emerging technologies and
capabilities to solve some of the most pressing operational and
interoperability issues. The Catalyst program directly supports the
NGOSS program by implementing many of the NGOSS concepts and principles.
