The two companies now offer an integration of Camiant's policy control
platform with Casero's Personal Media Management and Sharing solution,
delivering a combined offering that optimizes performance of
upstream-intensive applications to provide a superior customer experience
and peak network performance.
The uploading of computer files, such as photographs, video, music and
other media to a network hosted backup site using the Casero application
has proven to be of tremendous value to subscribers. Uploading large
files, especially for premium subscribers with large amounts of media, can
consume the upstream broadband connection for an extended period of time
causing performance degradation and subscriber frustration. The Camiant
and Casero integration, currently being trialed by a major US cable
operator, ensures subscribers can upload media faster, without interrupting
other upstream traffic, while also improving overall network performance
for all subscribers. The result is a better customer experience resulting
in reduced customer service calls and less subscriber churn.
Casero's Personal Media Platform delivers a single, centralized location
for subscribers to store, share, manage and access their personal media for
all devices. Camiant's policy server, the Multimedia Policy Engine (MPE)
provides real-time control of network resources for value-added
applications and subscribers. When a user uploads media, Casero's Personal
Media Platform alerts Camiant's MPE to create a larger, dedicated service
flow so that the backup service is fast and independent of other traffic.
