HP Issues Q2 Results, Guidance Above Street Expectations - Down 2% in Pre-Bell on EDS Acquisition

HP (HPQ) reports preliminary Q2 revenue of $28.3 bln, up from $25.5 bln a year ago and better than the Thomson Financial consensus of $27.9 bln. Preliminary non-GAAP EPS was $0.87 per share, an increase over $0.70 per share last year and three cents better than the Street view.



For Q3, the company expects revenue of about $27.3 to $27.4 bln and non-GAAP EPS in the range of $0.82 to $0.83 per share, vs. Street estimates of $27.3 bln in revs and earnings of $0.82 per share.

For FY08, HP expects revenue will be about $114.2 bln to $114.4 bln, with non-GAAP EPS of $3.54 to $3.58 per share, both up from previous estimates and ahead of current Street consensus numbers of $114.0 bln in revs and earnings of $3.52 per share.
