Couplets.com Celebrates Second Anniversary Helping Busy Couples Find Like-Minded �Couples Friends� Based on Shared Interests
Couplets.com, the first online social network designed exclusively for couples interested in meeting other, like-minded couples, announced today that it is celebrating its second anniversary.
The site was launched in 2006 based on the realization that there are many reasons couples look for new friends � including relationship transition points such as getting engaged or married, having a baby, children moving out, retirement and relocating.
Couplets.com enables today�s busy couples to easily identify and connect with other �couple friends� based on shared interests. But because meeting new couples can be difficult, the site has grown significantly, especially in markets like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tampa/St. Petersburg, St. Louis, Dallas, and Seattle.
�We designed the site to help members quickly identify like-minded couples, to make contact online, and create real friendships offline. Part of Couplets.com�s growth can be attributed to the fact that at least a third of our members found their partners through online dating sites like Match.com, eHarmony and JDate so it is natural for them to look online for couple friends, too. The majority of Couplets.com members are in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, but we�ve also found that more than 10 percent are couples age 50 and older. So we�re seeing growth across different age groups, which is validates our premise that couples today need new ways to meet couple friends,� said Jay Chalnick, president, Couplets.com.
The most popular activities listed by Couplets.com members include couple activities like dining out, going to movies, walking, conversation, wine tasting, and going to the beach.
