SL Corporation Delivers High-Speed Analytics for Real-Time Visibility Applications

CORTE MADERA, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- SL Corporation(R), a leading provider of real-time monitoring, analytics, and visualization software, today announced the availability of Enterprise RTView version 4.9. This latest release allows for higher-performance computing and analytics through the easy definition of a data cache for storing real-time data. This cache is specifically designed to perform high-speed analytic processing of real-time data, and to be able to compare current real-time values against historical values. The output can then be made available through dashboards, or as an input to rules that can activate alerts or automated commands.

"Every aspect of Enterprise RTView - the access, federation, and visualization of data - has been built from the ground up to handle real-time information efficiently," said Rodney Morrison, SL's Vice President of Products. "Now we've upped the ante on real-time analytics. Our memory-resident data cache allows our customers to perform sophisticated analytics and trend comparisons on truly current data."

SL's approach to in-memory analytics allows for much higher-performance computing than storing the real-time data in a database, and then either performing the analytics in the database, or querying it back out of the database whenever it is necessary to perform calculations. The cache maintains the current value of a scalar value or a tabular object with given indices for filtering, or optionally can store time-stamped scalar or tabular data.

Other features in this release include enhancements to RTView's alert rules definitions. Alerts can now be triggered off of multi-dimensional data rather than off a single data point. Also, users can dynamically insert and save alert rules, and new rules can be dynamically consumed by the operating service.

Recognizing a significant move in the industry towards the Mac as a UNIX platform of choice, SL has also certified Enterprise RTView for use on the Apple Macintosh platform.

"Now that Apple has moved to Intel CPUs, many developers who need to support diverse target platforms are choosing Macs," added Rodney Morrison. "With this environment, they can easily run UNIX and Windows applications at the same time on a modern industry-standard laptop. We are happy to be able to support Macintosh developers with this release."
