XAware Announces General Availability of XAware 5 Open Source Data Integration Software

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --(Business Wire)-- XAware, Inc. today announced the general availability of XAware 5, the open source data integration solution for creating and managing composite data services for SOA and Web 2.0 applications.

XAware's proven data integration software, now in its fifth generation, makes it easy to access and integrate data to and from any source. XAware enhances the productivity of other development tools and frameworks by building composite data services. These services provide real-time access to information and the ability to abstract, transform, aggregate and mashup data. Developers use these XAware capabilities to create a services-based data virtualization layer, which delivers a single view of data that can be consumed or served up easily.

"XAware solves one of the lingering problems for an SOA - providing rich information services that can be orchestrated into business processes or other higher level services," said Kirstan Vandersluis, chief scientist and founder of XAware. "Data is the foundation of SOA, and users of ESBs, BPEL, and Web 2.0 applications struggle every day with how to access the data. XAware lets users graphically pull data together from many sources into a single logical view that is callable as a service, effectively hiding the underlying complexity from applications that need it."

The XAware 5.0 product consists of:

-- XAware Designer--an Eclipse-based IDE for the creation of reusable composite data services and meta-data.

-- XAware Engine--a multi-threaded, scalable, information integration engine built on Spring, that can be deployed stand-alone or on Web Servers (Apache Tomcat, IIS) and Application Servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, iPlanet, JBoss, Oracle).

-- Connectors--used to provide synchronous and asynchronous connectivity from the requesting applications via SOAP, REST, JMS, EJB, Java API.

-- Adapters--used to provide connectivity to other systems including RDBMS, mainframe file types, structured and semi-structured text, EJBs, ERP, JMS, CRM, HTTP, FTP, and SOAP web services. XAware also offers the ability to use and create your own adapters.

"XAware's data services solution has streamlined our development process," said John Woolbright, CTO of Synovus. "Our developers no longer need to custom code each and every business process for various banking operations. The composite data services created by XAware have boosted our productivity and allowed us to reuse valuable services across our banking divisions."

XAware 5 is available for free use under the GPLv2 license and alternatively via a commercial license. Service and support subscriptions are available for purchase from XAware, Inc. For more information and to download XAware 5 please visit the community site: www.xaware.org.
