Vumber Launches Virtual Phone Number Service on Paltalk.com

NEW YORK, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Vumber (http://www.vumber.com/), the secure, two-way disposable calling service, today announced a new partnership with Paltalk (http://www.paltalk.com/), the leading real-time, video-based community with over 4 million active members, to provide privacy-ensured virtual phone numbers to its user base.

"Online dating and chat groups continue to be a fast growing trend, yet some participants are reluctant to share their personal phone numbers online," said Vumber Co-Founder Cliff Wener. "With Vumber, Paltalk members will have more privacy, control and freedom when providing phone numbers to one another."

According to a study by Pew Internet and American Life Project, 11% of all American Internet-using adults - about 16 million people - say they have gone to an online dating website or other site where they can meet people online. Sixty-six percent of those adults express reservation posting their personal information online.

"Paltalk is a great way to meet new friends all over the world particularly through the personal connections established between users through video chat, "said Joel Smernoff, President and COO of Paltalk. By now offering users the ability to share their personal phone numbers privately with Vumber, either in a one-on-one chat or in one of our secure rooms, we continue our commitment to always providing a safe and secure environment for Paltalkers to connect on and offline."

Vumber is a virtual, disposable phone number that enables subscribers to choose an additional phone number that can be linked to any existing phone line. Subscribers can choose an area code in North America and Vumber will then assign a seven-digit phone number in the area code of choice. Calls can be made to and from a Vumber at any time, making it a complete identity. Calls made to your Vumber will ring on any phone you select. Customers can also change their Vumber at any time.

Paltalk members are eligible for a free 30-day trial of Vumber's service. A rate of $4.99 per month will apply after the trial expires.

About Vumber
Vumber is a secure, two-way calling service that keeps your phone number private until to you decide it not to be. To make a call, simply dial your Vumber, and then dial the number that you wish to call. The recipient of the call will only see your Vumber on their caller ID. When callers dial your Vumber, you answer your call normally and an automated prompt will ask you to press 1 to accept the call. No PCs or special phones are required. The entire process is similar to using a regular phone.

Every Vumber has a unique voice mailbox. Messages can be retrieved from the system just like any other voicemail system. Incoming calls placed to your Vumber never reach your regular voicemail. Subscribers can also set up multiple personal mailboxes.

Vumber is fully customizable. Customers can also change the way incoming calls are handled by setting commands, which automatically send calls to voicemail, play busy signals or do not ring. Vumber subscribers can also set up an automated message to inform callers that the number is no longer in service
