Integrated Communications Service; New three year White Label Managed
Services agreement to provide voice, high speed broadband and
associated services
(M2 PressWIRE Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
RDATE:06022008
Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE), one of the UK's leading energy
providers, and BT today announced a new strategic partnership that sees
BT become the provider of integrated voice and broadband services to
SSE for resale to its UK customers. Under the terms of the three year
agreement, BT Wholesale will support SSE's expansion plans to become a
high quality, national provider of integrated communications services
to its 8.5 million customers in the UK. The service is expected to
launch this summer.
The agreement also includes second line customer support and the
development of a customised online portal that will enable SSE's
customers to access the service.
SSE is an existing BT Wholesale customer, offering telephony services
to around 150,000 customers across the UK. Today's agreement builds on
that relationship and will enables SSE to rapidly bring high speed
broadband and voice services to its home energy customers under BT
Wholesale's white label managed services portfolio. These new services
will enhance SSE's existing customer portfolio of services and help
maintain customer satisfaction levels.
Commenting on the agreement, Itret Latif, Telecoms Business manager at
SSE, said: "Scottish & Southern Energy wanted a partner that could
support us with the best suite of integrated communications services
quickly, nationally and with minimal capital and operational risk to
our business. We're enhancing our offer in today's fiercely competitive
market, by building on our relationship with BT. This will help us
become a trusted converged services supplier for our customers across
the UK."
Sally Davis, chief executive at BT Wholesale, said: "This agreement is
further testament to the strength of BT Wholesale's Managed Network
Solutions strategy. BT will help to quickly enhance Scottish & Southern
Energy's service offerings to its customers with a service that is both
competitive and dynamic. Today's announcement is additional recognition
of how BT's world class capabilities can help enhance customer quality
and choice."
