Pulse-LINK Launches CWave UWB HD Products at Multiple Locations Throughout CES 2008
LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)-- Ultra Wideband (UWB) pioneer and performance leader, Pulse-LINK, Inc., will showcase all four "flavors" of its CWave(R) high definition home networking solutions at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, January 7-10. Demonstrations of Wireless HDMI, HDMI-Over-Coax, Ethernet-Over-Coax, and 1394-Over-Coax products, using Pulse-LINK's CWave(R) UWB chipset, will take place at the Pulse-LINK booth (South Hall 2- #25559) and at various partner locations throughout the show floor.
Winner of two 2008 CES Innovations Design and Engineering awards, Pulse-LINK's CWave(R) technology was recently validated in independent testing by octoScope as being the world's fastest commercially available wireless networking chipset. Pulse-LINK's CWave(R) Wireless HDMI solution enables the placement of an HDTV anywhere in the room and reduces the "rat's nest" of connector wires behind entertainment systems, while establishing a secure wireless connection between the HDTV display and multiple entertainment source devices such as video game consoles, DVRs, Blu-ray DVD and HD DVD players. CWave(R) UWB-Over-Coax solutions for HDMI, Ethernet and 1394 connectivity allow content stored on any device in the home to be networked to any HDTV in the home across the existing in-home coax cabling. CWave's Gigabit data rates and guaranteed Quality of Service enables multiple streams of high definition content to be shared throughout the home for the industry's first room-to-room "Digital Home Cinema" experience.
Partner demonstrations include:
Westinghouse Digital Electronics: Debut of the world's first fully integrated Wireless HDTV- featuring Pulse-LINK's CWave(R) UWB Wireless HDMI solution.
Gefen, Inc.: Unveiling of the first HDMI-Over-Coax product to extend HDMI connectivity from room-to-room over the existing in-home coax cable infrastructure.
High-Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance (HANA): Pulse-LINK's CWave(R) 1394-Over-Coax and Wireless HDMI units enable premium quality HD content to be streamed over the HANA network from room-to-room with both coax cable and wireless connectivity for a four-room HANA Home demo.
Cavium Networks: Joint Reference Design for Ethernet-Over-Coax based on Cavium's high performance single and dual-core OCTEON(TM) MIPS64(R) Processor family and Pulse-LINK's UWB chipset, providing more than 400 Mbps application layer throughput.
Freescale Semiconductors: Demonstrations showcasing high data rate room-to-room IPTV functionality with Freescale's PowerQUICC(R) II Pro Communications Processor and Pulse-LINK's CWave(R) UWB chipset for Ethernet-Over-Coax connectivity.
Analog Devices: Demonstrations of joint reference designs for Wireless HDMI and HDMI-Over-Coax based on ADI's Wavescale(TM) compression technology and Pulse-LINK's CWave(R) UWB chipset.
Tatung: Showcasing Wireless HDMI connectivity with Pulse-LINK's CWave(R) UWB technology and the latest HDTV from Tatung Co.
"2008 is going to be the year for UWB to make its mark in the consumer electronics industry," states Bruce Watkins, Pulse-LINK co-founder and president/COO. "With the first volume commercial delivery of our FCC-approved CWave chipsets shipped in 2007, products are now being integrated with the fastest wireless chipset on the planet and consumers will soon realize what it means to have high-quality HD content streaming throughout their homes. HD entertainment is not just for the family room anymore."
Pick your flavor- HDMI, Ethernet, 1394? Wired or Wireless? CWave(R) provides a whole-home HD networking solution no matter what your content or product requirements are. Pulse-LINK is the only semiconductor company to deliver production silicon with Gigabit data rates for both wired and wireless HD video distribution. A long time recognized innovator of UWB technology, Pulse-LINK invented the use of Ultra Wideband over coax systems in 2002 and was the first to patent and demonstrate this revolutionizing technology for streaming HD content throughout the home. The use of UWB-Over-Coax for room-to-room HD connectivity is an entirely new technology developed by Pulse-LINK. Pulse-LINK was also the first company to demonstrate Wireless HDMI, in 2005 with Analog Devices, and continues to set the performance bar for high data rate wireless connectivity.
