(Wireless News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
VPI (Voice Print International), a provider of integrated interactions
recording and proactive workforce optimization (WFO) applications,
earlier this month announced that its technology contributed to the
District of Columbia Unified Communications Center's Recognition Award
from the National Association of State Chief Information Officers
(NASCIO).

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO)
selected 11 state IT initiatives in 10 categories to receive 2007
Recognition Awards for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of
Information Technology in State Government. The District of Columbia
Unified Communications Center won in the category of Business
Continuity and Disaster Recovery. VPI's interactions telephone and
trunked radio recording software is part of a solution fielded by
Science Applications International Corp. at the District of Columbia
Unified Communications Center in 2006.

"SAIC is dedicated to delivering best-value services and solutions
based on innovative applications of science and technology," said Mark
Dillon, SAIC assistant vice president and project manager. "We have an
uncompromising commitment to providing our customers with quality
technical products and services. By teaming with VPI, we have been able
to provide the District of Columbia Unified Communications Center with
state-of-the-art recording technology to meet their specific needs and
IT environment."

NASCIO's Recognition Awards Program features several categories,
updated for 2007 to reflect the wide range of IT projects currently
under development within state governments. Emphasis was placed on
recognizing programs that exemplify best practices, support the public
policy goals of state leaders, assist government officials to execute
their duties and provide cost-effective services to citizens.

State government projects and initiatives from each of the 50 U.S.
states were eligible to be nominated for these prestigious annual
awards. Criteria for selection included a description of the business
problem and solution including length of time in operation;
significance of the project to the improvement of the operation of
government; and the public value of the project encompassing benefits
realized by service recipients, taxpayers, agency or state, and
documented outcomes such as return on investment or cost avoidance data.

"State information technology best practices should be promoted and
shared," said Deputy Director of Information Technology, State of
Oklahoma and NASCIO Awards Committee Chair, Joe Fleckinger. "NASCIO's
Recognition Awards Program highlights leadership, innovation and
collaboration. The program provides a showcase of successful
initiatives from across the nation and encourages state governments to
continue to focus on efficiency, excellence and quality service to
citizens."

The interactions recording solution implemented by the District of
Columbia Unified Communications Center is one module from VPI's
Prioriti Interactions Suite. The tightly integrated suite offers
solutions for interactions recording, call taker quality review,
real-time, consolidated reporting, call taker eCoaching, keyword
spotting, and workforce management. It has been recognized with
numerous industry awards for its advanced technology and innovative
design.

"The District of Columbia Unified Communications Center has raised the
bar in its unyielding commitment to excellence," said Chris Morrissey,
VPI's vice president of sales and marketing. "We are honored and deeply
gratified to know that our technology played a part in this
organization's success."
