Prague to focus on young wealthy tourists

(Czech News Agency Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Prague, Dec 18 (CTK) - The Prague City Hall has prepared a televised advertising campaign that it believes will attract wealthy young tourists from abroad to the city, councillor Milan Richter told journalists today. Within the campaign that was approved by the Prague council today and that will cost some 8.5 million crowns advertising spots will be broadcast on the Fashion TV channel with Czech-born fashion model Petra Nemcova being the face of the promotion clip. Prague will have two spots broadcast - a 5-minute invitation and a 3-minute clip in the Alfons Mucha style. Czech fashion models will invite tourists to visit Prague. "The spots will be aired 600 times, twice within the first half of 2008," Richter said. Fashion TV channel broadcasts round-the-clock in 202 countries. According to Richter, up to 348 million households watch it. Its viewers are mainly young unmarried people and young married couples from higher income groups who like to visit other countries, ask for luxury services and are prepared to pay for them. The campaign is targeted on them, Richter said, adding that so far it had been rather people who cannot afford luxury services who visited Prague. ($1=18.324 crowns) vv/dr/pv
