Interop Technologies Secures Deal with MetroPCS for OTA Device
Management
(Wireless News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
Interop Technologies, a provider of advanced wireless technology
solutions, announced that MetroPCS has agreed to purchase the Interop
Over-the-Air Device Management Solution 3.3 for commercial deployment
in all of its operating U.S. markets in Q4 2007.
MetroPCS, a rapidly growing wireless service provider, selected the
highly scalable, Interop OTA 3.3 solution because it enables quick,
efficient device activations for new customers and provides accurate,
large-scale roaming list updates for subscriber handsets. These
capabilities deliver convenience to MetroPCS and its customers and
reduce expenses for the operator. The SS7-based OTA 3.3 solution
enables MetroPCS to adjust its Preferred Roaming List automatically to
manage cost structures and react quickly to changing roaming
relationships in a competitive market. In addition, the Interop
Technologies solution supports encrypted programming, increasing
network security and reducing potential fraud.
"The Interop Technologies OTA solution will serve us well as we expand
into new markets, grow our business, and continue to focus on customer
satisfaction," said Malcolm Lorang, Chief Technology Officer, MetroPCS.
"We are pleased to leverage our network operations experience and
state-of-the-art technology to deliver the reliability and scalability
that MetroPCS requires," said John Dwyer, President and CEO, Interop
Technologies. "We look forward to supporting MetroPCS and its success
in the market." During the CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment tradeshow
Oct. 23-25, Interop Technologies exhibited at the Moscone Center in San
Francisco.
