Rugby - All Clear for Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa(The Nation (Kenya) Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) The stage is set for the Mitchell Cotts Driftwood Seven-a-side tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Mombasa Sports Club after the company gave sh150,000 sponsorship towards the event. Mitchell Cotts marketing manager Wilfred Ochieng Oluga while giving the sponsorship cheque yesterday said his company was proud to be associated with the event, after sponsoring the rugby tournament for the past five years. "We are very proud to be associated with Drift wood tournament as part of our social corporate responsibility and is appealing to Coast fans to turn up in large numbers and cheer their best teams to victory", Oluga said. Mwamba are the top seeds for the Mitchell Cotts Driftwood Seven-a-side tournament which will be hosted by Mombasa Sports Club on Saturday and Sunday. Already, Mwamba has won two tournaments and lead the Kenya Rugby Football Union National Sevens Circuit with 62 points. Last weekend, they defeated Impala 41-0 to win the Kenya Harlequin Christie Sevens. Mwamba face JKUAT Second-placed Impala (50 points), Kenya Commercial Bank and Blak Blad complete the top four teams for this fourth and last tournament of the KRFU National Sevens Circuit. Mwamba begin the title chase with a match against Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology from 9.30am. Hosts Mombasa Sports Club have been drawn in Pool A. Gate charges for Saturday is Sh200 and Sh150 on Sunday. Rugby fans will also have a chance to watch the Rugby World Cup final between England and South Africa at the venue.
