Icahn Threatens To Withdraw Interest In Motorola
(InvesTrend Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
October 15, 2007 (FinancialWire) billionaire investor Carl Icahn said
that continued problems for mobile phone maker Motorola (NYSE: MOT) may
lead him to withdraw his interest in the company.
Icahn owns about 2% of Motorola's outstanding shares. Motorola has lost
market share recently to rivals including Nokia (NYSE: NOK) as its
flagship Razr phone has become less popular and less expensive for
consumers.
The hedge fund manager failed in May to become elected onto the
company's board of directors.
