HP Introduces Services Portfolio for Unified Communications Solutions


PALO ALTO, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- HP (NYSE:HPQ) today unveiled a new services portfolio designed to help customers unify their communications to improve collaboration.

The HP Unified Communications (UC) portfolio brings together voice, fax, email, voicemail, video/data/audio conferencing, collaboration, wireless and mobile technologies to improve the way individuals and groups work together, regardless of where they are located or the devices being used.

HP's expertise in telecommunications and collaboration solutions, data networking, enterprise messaging, partner infrastructures, and enterprise services enables it to deliver high-quality and cohesive enterprise communication solutions.

Analysts predict that sales of UC applications will continue to grow in the high double digits each year through at least 2010, with unified messaging making up the largest part of the market.(1)

HP Services' Unified Communications solutions

HP is well suited to offer a complete, open-standards UC portfolio, including HP iPAQ handheld devices, notebook and desktop PCs, printing devices, HP Halo telepresence solutions, enterprise messaging, networking tools, mobile technologies, servers, data storage, security services, management software, and collaboration and communication products. HP Services' UC portfolio builds on its existing network and messaging services.

The UC portfolio includes:

-- Support services that provide enterprise customers with complete lifecycle services, to help maximize return on investment.

HP leverages alliances with UC leaders

The recent Cisco and Microsoft joint commitment to ongoing interoperability between their solutions helps to position HP to meet customer demands for UC solutions that bridge Microsoft software, including unified communications applications, and Cisco communication solutions.
