TMCNet: EFI Fiery Platform Drives Xerox DocuColor 8000AP Digital Press

[September 22, 2007]

EFI Fiery Platform Drives Xerox DocuColor 8000AP Digital Press

(Wireless News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
EFI, a provider of customer-focused digital printing solutions, and
Xerox announced the most advanced Fiery platform to drive the Xerox
DocuColor 8000AP Digital Press, the EX8000AP.

Clocking a 65 percent faster RIP (raster image processing) speed over
its Fiery predecessor, EFI noted, the new Fiery for the Xerox DocuColor
8000AP enables Xerox customers to "print to win," compete more
effectively in extreme printing environments, where engine utilization,
speed, advanced color management, variable data printing (VDP)
capability and integration are critical to success and profitability.

The new print server, which launched with the DocuColor 8000AP (80
pages per minute) last month and is immediately available, is based on
the Fiery technology that won the 2007 BERTL's Best Innovation Award
and designed for DocuColor 8000AP customers in Graphic Arts, Print for
Pay, Commercial Printing and Corporate Reproduction Departments (CRD).

"Over our long successful history together, EFI has delivered products
that help our customers improve competitiveness, efficiency and
profitability," said Jerry Murray, vice president, product marketing,
Xerox Production Systems Group. "The newest advancements in the new
Fiery continue that legacy, delivering the highest levels of image
quality, productivity, speed, reliability, workflow and value for our
DocuColor 8000AP customers."

"Customers deploying the Fiery designed for the Xerox DocuColor 8000AP
benefit from the powerful combination of a Xerox digital production
engine and state-of-the-art technology from EFI," said Frank Mallozzi,
senior vice president, marketing and sales, EFI. "EFI solutions for
Xerox customers are designed to drive print service providers' success,
improving their engine utilization and return on investment and
enabling them to address their customers' demands for value-added
services, like variable data printing."
