CRG West Expands Space and Its Colocation, Interconnection and Peering Services in Los Angeles at One Wilshire and Wilshire Annex

LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)-- CRG West is pleased to announce a major expansion of data center space at their flagship site at the One Wilshire building in Downtown Los Angeles. The 25,000 square foot data center expansion on the 27th floor at the One Wilshire Building allows CRG West to offer companies the combination of 150 Watts per square foot and the ability to interconnect with nearly 300 different networks and carriers.

The on-going growth at One Wilshire is the result of expansions from loyal CRG West clients including Creative Thought, Hutchison Global, Korea Telecom, and Pacific Crossing Limited.

In addition, CRG West is building out an additional 30,000 square feet of space at its second Los Angeles data center, Wilshire Annex, to meet the needs of new customer commitments including Slide, eHarmony and 3jane IndieClick. The space is engineered to accommodate an impressive 175 watts per square foot. Often referred to as the "Postal Annex," Wilshire Annex is a massive 450,000 square foot data center that was originally constructed in 1939 and designed for use as a central mail facility for the United States Post Office. After a significant renovation in the late 1990s, Wilshire Annex is now ready to meet the cooling and power requirements of content delivery networks, hosting companies and enterprises. Wilshire Annex offers diverse fiber points of entry, exceptional ceiling heights and an on-site technician staff.

"The demand for space in our data centers has never been stronger and this trend shows no sign of slowing. Internet companies from around the globe are growing their data center deployments and network presence in an effort to meet the increasing desire for High Definition and other rich content available on the net," said David Dunn, senior vice president of CRG West. "The industry's enthusiasm surrounding our continued service upgrades and expansion in Los Angeles is exciting to witness as we continue our commitment to provide best-in-class colocation, interconnection and peering services at One Wilshire and Wilshire Annex," continued Dunn.

"With the recent sale of the One Wilshire Building to Hines REIT we are extremely focused on our core competency of providing managed power and peering opportunities to the world's leading content delivery networks and service providers," said John Savageau, managing director of CRG West. "An example of our commitment has been the recent expansion of CRG West's remote hands services in Los Angeles. We are now staffed on-site, 24x7 at One Wilshire. Such staffing lets us meet the demands of our global customer base and those of our enterprise customers at Wilshire Annex," continued Savageau.

CRG West, a subsidiary of The Carlyle Group, and one of the largest managers of network-neutral data centers in the United States, leases over 170,000 square feet under a long-term lease and is the largest tenant at One Wilshire. Managed by CRG West since 2001, One Wilshire is one of the world's top points of interconnection. The property serves some of the most dominant players in the global communication industry including Verizon, CRG West, Savvis, Level (3), Global Crossing, Qwest Communications, and AT&T.
