Privaris and Alacera Partnership Brings Biometrics-Based Converged Security to Middle East Geographies

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. --(Business Wire)-- Privaris, a leading provider of personal, wireless identity verification solutions, today announced that leading converged security protection provider Alacera International Corporation will integrate Privaris' plusID personal biometric tokens into its Sentrix(TM) identity verification module, through an OEM relationship. With the addition of plusID, the module will become a cornerstone for Alacera's converged security solutions, which includes Physical Security Protection (PSP), Homeland Security Protection (HSP), and Information Assurance (IA) platforms.

plusID is the world's first personal wireless biometric token. The convenient, key-fob sized device provides secure access to multiple facilities, computers and networks, adding the heightened security of biometrics through a convenient and cost-effective delivery model. plusID allows rapid integration by working seamlessly with existing physical and logical security systems and ensures personal privacy by performing all biometric processing on the user's personal device, rather than an external database. Tamper-resistant and built to withstand digital and physical attack, plusID cannot be used by anyone else if lost or stolen, unlike traditional identity verification approaches such as key cards and passwords.

After surveying more than twenty vendors in the identity verification space, Alacera selected Privaris' biometric technology to offer its customers a heightened security solution that interfaces with their existing security infrastructure. Alacera will rely on plusID's core technology to provide non-repudiation evidence of identity for audit compliance on both physical and logical (IT) security systems. Additionally, Alacera will tap Privaris' expertise in the identity verification industry to provide Alacera's customers with comprehensive technology insight and support.

"Bringing best of breed global security solutions to the Middle East is a mission that we take great pride in," said Arpad Toth, Alacera CEO and Chairman of the Board. "Privaris is the only manufacturer offering the multi-function high security technology capabilities that we need to meet customer demand. We are excited to now offer a self-contained converged solution that is both flexible and easy to manage."

plusID represents the first phase of a larger technology rollout under this OEM partnership, as Alacera plans to integrate additional Privaris solutions into its "Integrated, Multifunction National ID Card" program scheduled to launch later this year.

"Alacera's decision to integrate our plusID technology into their converged security protection architecture validates our ground-breaking approach to biometrics," said John Petze, CEO of Privaris. "We have seen an increased demand for integrated logical and physical access solutions around the world, and are pleased to have a multi-function, streamlined solution that includes the heightened security of biometrics, but doesn't drain budgets. We're committed to working with Alacera to enhance their security offerings to top government and commercial agencies in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates."

Alacera has confirmed that it is currently in negotiations to sign Memorandums of Understanding with three of the top property developers in the Middle East to deliver Secure Integrated Building Systems solutions based on its Sentrix(TM) IBS reference architecture. The Privaris plusID product line will be at the core of Alacera's Sentrix(TM) Identity Verification and Access Control modules.
