90% of Fortune 100,000 Still Using Manual IT Processes, Says EMA White Paper

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- KACE, the leading provider of systems management appliances, today announced top-level conclusions from a new white paper that researched the Fortune 100,000 or medium enterprise market and found this large segment of the business community to have unique and specific needs that are under-addressed by most technology vendors, especially in comparison to their enterprise-sized competitors. Prepared by leading IT analyst firm Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), the paper, titled "Addressing the IT Requirements of the Fortune 100,000: A Case for Systems Management Appliances," evaluated the definition of the Fortune 100,000 community, highlighted the IT management challenges for this market segment and raised the specific need for medium enterprise-focused solutions.

Analyzing the distinctive needs of this significant market, EMA analysts concluded that an appliance-based approach to systems management, such as that provided by KACE's KBOX family of appliances, not only addresses the challenges IT managers face within the Fortune 100,000, but also provides the time- and money-savings this market relies on to achieve the IT efficiencies of their enterprise-sized competition.

"EMA believes that this significant portion of the business community, both in terms of size and revenue, has been overlooked by IT vendors," concluded Steve Brasen, analyst with EMA and lead analyst for the study. "Currently 75% of Fortune 1000 businesses are using automated system management tools, whereas 90% of Fortune 100,000 businesses rely on manual processes for maintaining their IT environments. As the mid-sized enterprise challenges of meeting IT business requirements continue to increase in complexity and scope, the need will also increase for automated, centralized systems management solutions -- such as KBOX from KACE -- to provide simple, comprehensive, and inexpensive answers to Fortune 100,000 IT management and administration concerns."

KACE's KBOX family of appliances saves its customers both time and money. Systems managers from large and medium enterprises are often forced to wear many hats throughout the day to work on a myriad of IT functions. KACE helps consolidate these functions providing a single appliance for all of their projects while delivering easy-to-use, comprehensive systems management that is affordable. The KBOX Systems Management Appliances automate routine and complex IT maintenance tasks for end-point nodes on a network, while the KBOX Systems Deployment Appliances provide centralized provisioning and remote system recovery.

"As the results of the EMA study illustrate, it is clear that IT managers in medium enterprises need the same systems management capabilities as their Fortune 1000 counterparts, but at an ease of use and price point that better matches their needs," said Rob Meinhardt, CEO and co-founder of KACE. "The KBOX Systems Management and Systems Deployment Appliances are the ideal choice for Fortune 100,000 businesses looking to be more efficient and productive while reducing costs within IT organizations."
