Integrien Announces Dynamic Thresholding Program to Alleviate Burden of Setting Static Thresholds

IRVINE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Integrien, the leader in integrity management solutions, today announced a dynamic thresholding initiative to help organizations alleviate the burden of manually setting static thresholds for critical business services. The initiative includes the dynamic thresholding capabilities of Integrien's flagship software, Alive(TM), which continuously adjusts the thresholds that trigger alerts to system problems, replacing the need to manually set static thresholds that are pertinent only for peak loads and absolute limits. The program includes a license fee as well as professional services.

In a recent survey of IT executives sponsored by Techtel, 61 percent indicated their organizations manually correlate as many as 5,000 alerts per month which result from static thresholds, the majority of which are not actionable. Given this problem, 71 percent of respondents said they have looked into dynamic thresholding and see value in it. Moreover, 86 percent have already implemented or are planning to implement dynamic thresholding in the near future to help reduce false alerts.

Integrien's dynamic thresholding program will include up to 250 servers, a base product license, a dynamic thresholding license and a packaged professional services offering. The professional services package includes software installation, data collection setup, activation of data collection and dynamic thresholding and Alive System Administrator Training. The license fee is $90,000 while professional services fees are packaged at $20,000. This program period runs through September 28, 2007.

"Organizations are already struggling to maintain IT efficiency in the face of the growing complexity of business systems and applications," said Roy Agostino, CMO of Integrien. "Add to this that most organizations are still collecting a massive volume of metrics which makes setting thresholds an expensive, time consuming process. These static thresholds trigger false alerts that continue to preoccupy IT staff from being able to deal with real problems. Alive's dynamic thresholding capability eliminates the manual processes associated with setting static thresholds and enables IT staff to cut costs and allocate time to improving operations and preventing problems."

Integrien Alive solves a number of problems related to maintaining application availability and service levels. Alive pinpoints the source of problems when a distributed application suffers performance degradation or outages. It then predicts problems based on the pattern of abnormal events that competing products pass through as an alert storm. Alive analyzes critical metrics across an IT infrastructure in real-time to predict and helps IT staff prevent failures before they occur. Alive also reports on looming resource and system constraints and guides IT in correcting them.
