Relational Technology Solutions Supports Computer Literacy for Florida Youth

LARGO, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- Relational Technology Solutions (RTS), one of the largest independent IT leasing and technology solutions providers in North America, today announced its sponsorship of Tech Jam 2007. Billed as a "party with a purpose," Tech Jam is designed to fund several youth-oriented technology education and training programs in the greater Tampa Bay area.

This year's event - scheduled for Thursday evening, August 16 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa - marks the sixth consecutive year that the Tampa Bay Technology Forum (TBTF) has hosted Tech Jam. The TBTF is a professional association whose members, representing 400 companies and 40,000 employees, work together to encourage technology and innovation within the local business community.

Tech Jam 2006 raised more than $100,000 in cash contributions and in kind software donations to the TBTF Foundation, which was founded in 2001 to provide a mechanism for the membership of TBTF to give back to the community. "By moving Tech Jam to a larger facility and partnering with leading technology companies to promote the event, we hope to exceed the contributions raised last year and continue to raise awareness about the many programs that our organization supports," said Amy Norman, president and chief executive officer of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum.

The TBTF Foundation is involved with a number of local technology education and training initiatives, including the CompuTer-rific Program, a collaborative project with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay. Since its inception in 2001, TBTF's CompuTer-rific Program has provided more than $1 million in donated computer equipment, software, infrastructure, labor and instruction to 20 computer labs at local Boys & Girls Clubs. These computer labs collectively serve more than 700 youth each day.

"Relational's involvement with Tech Jam is a natural extension of our belief that encouraging computer literacy amongst all Americans, but especially underprivileged youth, is very important," said Dan Schinsky, vice president of Enterprise Solution at Relational Technology Solutions. "The event also serves a complementary purpose in bringing the local business community together for a common goal, which only helps strengthen relationships among TBTF members."

Tech Jam 2007 will feature a silent auction and raffle, plus music, networking and a buffet dinner; admission is $30 per person.
