GigaOM and Revision3 Launch Internet Television Show

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)-- GigaOM and Revision3 today announced the debut of The GigaOM Show, a thirty-minute Internet television program that provides an unflinching look at technology news and rare interviews with business leaders. Om Malik, widely considered one of the most influential blogger-journalists today, and Joyce Kim, a respected technology lawyer and entrepreneur, will co-host the program. The GigaOM Show is targeted at executives in the high-tech industry, venture and angel investors, along with anyone who's fascinated about the continuing evolution of technology and the Internet. The show's inaugural guests include James Hong, co-founder of HotOrNot, Rob Glaser, founder of Real Networks, and Bill Watkins, CEO of Seagate.

The GigaOM Show is released every Thursday on the Revision3 network, and debuts today (www.revision3.com/gigaom). Each episode features Hitlines where Kim and Malik give their own unique take in this week's top headlines, and in-depth interviews with industry movers and shakers.

The GigaOM Show also includes Revision3's unique sponsorship model, which embeds advertisers into the program in a powerful and clutter-free way. Jangl, the company bridging social networks and mobile phones for millions through a voice service that lets people call anyone, anywhere, has signed on as the show's exclusive launch sponsor.

"People want a television show that strips away the marketing gloss and presents a thoughtful and uncompromised look at the tech business today," said Malik. "Every week Joyce and I will choose the most important and compelling news stories -- including exclusives -- and offer our take on what makes them so important. In our sessions with executives, viewers will get an unfiltered perspective on what it takes to succeed in this business, and how they can avoid the myriad of pitfalls that exist."

"When it comes to insight about what's really going on in the technology industry today, nobody does it better than Om Malik," said Jim Louderback, CEO of Revision3. "But there's still no substitute for a hard-hitting, in-depth video conversation with the people building the future. That's why we're excited to partner with GigaOM. This show lets Om and Joyce get to the heart of what makes this business great -- innovation, risk, intelligence and passion. These are the same qualities we're dedicated to at Revision3. Now the viewer gets the best of both worlds -- Om's perspective brought to life by the vision of Revision3."

Om Malik is one of the most respected and widely read journalists covering technology. He is the founder of GigaOmniMedia, Inc. and the chief blogger for GigaOM.com. Before launching his own publishing venture, Om was a senior writer for Business 2.0 magazine covering telecom and broadband. Prior to that, he served as senior writer for Red Herring focusing on the telecommunications sector. His first book, Broadbandits: Inside the $750 billion telecom heist, was released in May 2003. He has worked for Red Herring and Forbes.com. His writings have also appeared in newspapers and magazines such as The Wall Street Journal, BrandWeek, and Crains, New York Business.

As a technology company founder and practicing lawyer working closely with technology entrepreneurs, Joyce Kim brings a unique perspective to The GigaOM Show. Joyce practices law at Fortis General Counsel and focuses on outsourced general counsel services, with an emphasis on the representation of emerging growth technology companies, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital financings. She represents a variety of clients ranging from software companies, angel and seed investors, and consulting services companies. She also runs the largest English language Korean-pop community/site (www.soompi.com), which has an Alexa 1000 ranking. Prior to joining Fortis General Counsel, Joyce practiced law at the Silicon Valley office of a national law firm where she worked on venture capital financings and merger and acquisition transactions. Joyce was also a member of the capital markets group in the New York office of Shearman & Sterling.
