(AP Online Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Bill Clinton Book Due Out Sept. 4NEW YORK (AP) _ Former President Clinton's planned book on citizen activism, "Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World," will come out Sept. 4 with a first printing of 750,000, publisher Alfred A. Knopf announced Tuesday. Clinton, whose memoir "My Life" was a million seller, will tour nationwide to promote the book and will narrate the audio version.



Elvis Co-Stars Mark 30 Years Since DeathMEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) _ His movies weren't exactly works of art, but for the fans there was something magical about Elvis Presley on the big screen, dancing and flirting with one starlet after another. Presley has been dead nearly 30 years, but many of his on-screen girlfriends are still around _ and they're still ready for their close-ups.

Italy Threatens Sanctions Against MuseumROME (AP) _ Italy's culture minister said Tuesday that he has sent the J. Paul Getty Museum a proposal to resolve a dispute over allegedly looted antiquities, and threatened the Los Angeles museum with sanctions if a deal is not reached by the end of this month. "I have again written to the Getty offering a final proposal for dialogue and agreement," Minister Francesco Rutelli said.


Judge Orders 4 Trials for Busta RhymesNEW YORK (AP) _ Busta Rhymes, accused of attacking two men, driving drunk and driving with a suspended license, has rejected a plea deal and is facing four separate trials. Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Larry Stephen denied a motion by the prosecution Tuesday to consolidate two assault charges against Rhymes. The 35-year-old rapper is accused of beating a fan and also of beating and kicking a former employee last year.

Blondie Does `Desperately Seeking Susan'LONDON (AP) _ Post-punk stars Blondie are lending their songs to a West End musical based on the Madonna movie "Desperately Seeking Susan," its producers announced Tuesday. The show, adapted from the 1985 film that helped propel the Material Girl to fame, is scheduled to open Oct. 12 at the Novello Theatre.

Tony Blair's Top Aide Publishes DiariesLONDON (AP) _ Prime Minister Tony Blair's government colleagues had serious doubts about the invasion of Iraq, a former top aide said in diaries published this week. Alastair Campbell, Blair's powerful chief spin doctor between 1997 and 2003, wrote that Blair showed no doubts about joining the U.S.-led war, which divided his governing Labour Party and the country.

Sean `Diddy' Combs, Girlfriend Split UpNEW YORK (AP) _ Just months after his longtime girlfriend gave birth to twin girls, Sean "Diddy" Combs announced Tuesday that the pair have split up. A publicist for the 37-year-old rap mogul confirmed that he and model Kim Porter were no longer together. On Dec. 21, Porter gave birth to daughters D'Lila Star and Jessie James; the couple also have a son together.

Beckham Insists She's Just a Normal GirlLOS ANGELES (AP) _ Victoria Beckham insisted Monday that she's "just a normal girl from London" who happens to be "living quite a surreal life" with her soccer star husband David and their three young boys. Americans can judge for themselves when the newest British import is seen in a one-hour NBC special, "Victoria Beckham: Coming to America," airing July 16 at 8 p.m.

Days Numbered for Illinois `Car Kabob'BERWYN, Ill. (AP) _ A kitschy landmark that made a cameo in the movie "Wayne's World" will be dismantled to make way for a pharmacy. Officially named the Spindle, the towering sculpture of eight cars impaled by a massive steel pipe became famous for its appearance in the 1992 comedy starring Mike Myers as Wayne and Dana Carvey as his buddy Garth.

19 Million Tune Into Live Earth ConcertsNEW YORK (AP) _ Nineteen million people tuned in to watch the Live Earth concerts on NBC and cable channels affiliated with the network, according to Nielsen Media Research. The total audience of 18.995 million includes viewers who watched at least six minutes of the telecasts on NBC, CNBC, Telemundo, the Sundance Channel, Bravo, MSNBC and Universal HD.
