Symmetricom purchases technologies from Genista

(Telecomworldwire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
Symmetricom Inc (Nasdaq:SYMM), a provider of precise time and frequency
products and services, announced on Thursday (14 June) that the company
has purchased certain technology assets from Genista Corporation, a
provider of software-based technologies.

This acquisition will reportedly extend Symmetricom's End-to-End
Quality of Experience (QoE) Monitoring Solution for CSPs that are
deploying triple and quad play services.

With the acquisition Symmetricom will be able to offer CSPs, systems
integrators and content providers a broader set of
performance-measurement tools to monitor the quality of IPTV, TV over
IP, Video on Demand and other IP-based multimedia services.

The company said that Stefan Winkler, chief scientist and a co-founder
of Genista, will become the chief scientist of Symmetricom's QoE
Assurance Division.

Financial details of the acquisition were not available.
