tel(x) Hires Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

NEW YORK, June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- tel(x), the premier operator of interconnection facilities in the United States announces a new addition to the management team: Christopher Downie as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Downie brings over fifteen years working in finance and telecommunications; where most recently he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Principal Executive Officer at Motient Corporation, a public company developing broadband wireless communications solutions for enterprise customers.

Having recently expanded from 2 to 13 sites in the US, tel(x) has rapidly become one of the largest privately-owned operators of interconnection facilities in North America. Downie's experience overseeing large-scale financial and operational initiatives will prove relevant as tel(x) continues to expand several of its existing facilities over the coming months and plan for new growth opportunities domestically and abroad.

"I'm excited to bring my experience to bear in such a thriving, growing company," said Downie. "tel(x) is fast becoming the nation's top solutions provider of distinct, private, direct network interconnections - a benefit that will soon be recognized by all major businesses seeking cost-effective communications services."

Responsible for all financial operations, business planning, investor relations and corporate finance activities at Motient, Downie brings extensive experience to tel(x). During his tenure with Motient, he was responsible in overseeing three merger and acquisition transactions, which enabled the company to appreciate in market value from less than $50 million in 2002 to over $1 billion in 2006. Previously, Downie worked as a consultant for Communications & Technology Advisors, a communications consulting firm; Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for BroadStreet Communications, Inc., a wireline communications company; and Vice President in the Investment Banking Division of Daniels & Associates, LP; an investment bank focused on media and communications.

Downie's knowledge and experience in various communications companies servicing the global enterprise space reflects tel(x)'s vision of being the leader in service and quality for carrier neutral interconnect facilities. "With our recent expansion into 13 markets and our ongoing interest to excel in the core interconnection space, Chris serves a crucial role on my team to ensure we execute on our vision in the most efficient manner," says Eric Shepcaro, CEO and Chairman of tel(x).
