Nokia to hire new staff at Finnish factory

Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia (NYSE: NOK) said on Tuesday
(5 June) that it will hire 300 new production workers for its factory
in Salo, Finland.
Nokia said that the need for new workers was due to the increased
demand for E-series and N-series handsets, so-called "smart" handsets.
Nokia also said that it would try to cooperate with electronics
companies that are in the process of letting staff go. Currently there
are 2,300 workers at the Salo factory.
Nokia, headquartered in Espoo in Finland, is a global mobile phone and
network equipment manufacturer. It has nearly 59,000 employees
worldwide. Nokia is listed on the Helsinki, Stockholm, Frankfurt and
New York stock exchanges.
