Integrien Leads Innovation in Systems Operations Management Market with Alive(TM) 5.6
IRVINE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Integrien Corporation, which was recently named by Gartner, Inc. as a "Cool Vendor" in IT Operations Management, today continued its innovation in the market with the release of version 5.6 of its Alive(TM) integrity management software. Alive 5.6 includes new features that leverage current investments in IBM Tivoli, as well as provides insight into how the performance of IT systems impact business services. These new features add to Integrien Alive's unique ability to predict and prevent slowdowns and failures in mission-critical business services.
"We've been recognized by analysts as one of the few companies driving innovation in the marketplace," said Roy Agostino, CMO of Integrien. "Companies already have invested billions of dollars in monitoring technology, but struggle to keep business services running at levels acceptable to customers. We believe it's time to think differently about solving this problem, but do it in a way that leverages current investments in IT systems management tools. Alive enables this by pulling insight out of massive amounts of data about the performance and availability of complex IT systems to make sense of their applications."
Through its partnership with IBM, Alive 5.6 provides enhanced IBM monitoring integration to add value to existing IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) implementations by auto-correlating and analyzing the data ITM collects from disparate devices, systems and applications to predict, prevent and resolve problems. Alive's predictive alerts can be routed through IBM Tivoli's Enterprise Console (TEC) to direct IT staff to the appropriate corrective actions or trigger automatic resolution of problems.
Alive 5.6 also adds value to existing implementations through the addition of Linux support, new JBOSS and WebSphere 6.x adapters and bulk server configuration tools. This enables organizations to quickly and easily implement Alive without having to worry about interoperability issues with other infrastructure components.
Alive 5.6 also enables organizations to make better sense of their existing world. The software synthesizes and delivers intelligent information instead of sending hundreds of alerts that may or may not be pertinent to a performance problem. Alive 5.6's enhanced Business Service reporting feature provides power and flexibility when measuring the performance and availability of business services against objectives. This enables IT staff to compare the performance of crucial business services to identify the most problematic areas so they can prioritize and focus their resources.
Through its patent-pending Problem Fingerprint and self learning capabilities, Alive 5.6 helps organizations predict and prevent problems and application outages before they occur. Specifically, Alive 5.6's Fingerprint Visualization feature provides a "time walk" of the pattern of events composing the Problem Fingerprint to further help organizations isolate potential problems. Rather than expecting IT to manually correlate an infinite amount of data to identify the root cause behind an incident, Alive recognizes what is normal in an environment. When problems arise, predictive analytics send alerts prior to problem occurrence, allowing IT professionals to maintain productivity and advance key business initiatives.
"Application outages can derail strategic business goals if not properly addressed," said Armand Shirikian, Senior Manager Operations Integrity at BT Infonet. "Reputations, customer satisfaction and revenues are dependent on our systems and application availability. As a result, I need to have maximum visibility into the systems that make up my IT infrastructure and understand why those systems fail. Alive's innovation and ease of integration into our existing environment will help us to quickly identify problem areas in our infrastructure and apply the right fix to stop those problems before they occur."
Additional new features in Alive 5.6 include:
-- High Availability and Disaster Recovery Support - A co-located passive "Hot Standby" Alive system takes over monitoring within five minutes of an event, with a maximum of 10 minutes of data loss. Also, a remote instance of Alive takes over monitoring within four hours of an event, with a maximum of eight hours data loss.
-- Expanded Metric Collection for WebSphere 5.x and Weblogic 8.1.3 - Alive 5.6 pulls additional metrics from WebSphere and WebLogic to further its intelligent analytics and predict and prevent capabilities.
