Velofone: Velofone launch wVoIP service to international business travellers

RDATE:24052007

UK internet telephony service provider Velofone today announces the
launch its new wVoIP service VeloMobile at London's popular Wireless
Event.

Offering low cost wireless VoIP communication packages to the
international business traveller, VeloMobile delivers both wVoIP and
cellular services on a single mobile device enabling users within over
62,000 international Wi-Fi hotspots to significantly reduce their
international roaming costs on outgoing calls.

The service does not require any change to the customers existing
mobile contract and requires no complicated set up or manual network
selection when roaming to benefit from reduced call charges.

Customers simply insert their existing SIM card into their VeloMobile
handset and when they are in range of a designated Wi-Fi hotspot they
will automatically connect to the Velofone IP network rather than their
more expensive cellular network. When out of range, the handset simply
reverts to their existing network and normal charging tariff.

Ideally suited to the business traveller, Velofone have selected
Cicero's award winning multimode softphone to launch the VeloMobile
service on the stylish HTC S620 handset.

"At Velofone we believe the most critical element in wVoIP service is
the end user experience and the VeloMobile S620 ticks all of these
boxes, offering a simple, intuitive user experience on both Nokia and
Windows Mobile devices" said Mark Gordon, MD Velofone. "Many dual-mode
devices today require the subscriber to select the network to use; we
have created a solution so that the handset automatically does that for
them".

"We are delighted that Velofone has selected CiceroPhone to enable
their new VeloMobile service" said Ross Brennan, CEO Cicero Networks.
"The international business traveller market is a real sweet spot for
wVoIP services and one where dramatic cost savings can be achieved
using wVoIP technology".
