Meshcom has announced the release of Meshcom OpenAP Firmware, powered by Meshcom Meshdriver.

Meshcom OpenAP Firmware is a software package for normal off-the-shelf access points running Linux operating system. Meshcom OpenAP Firmware is targeted for companies evaluating Meshcom's Meshdriver technology, as well as hobbyists who want to enjoy wireless mesh networking in their homes or community networks with the equipment they have already.



Meshcom OpenAP Firmware is built on top of OpenWRT open source project and is available initially for Linksys WRT54GL Linux Access Points.

Meshcom OpenAP Firmware offers standard Wi-Fi networking advantages with mesh networking features such as network self-healing, self-configuring and dynamic routing.
