State Farm to pay $2 million for tornado damage

(Greeley Tribune (CO) (KRT) Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Apr. 4--State Farm Insurance said today it will pay policyholders in Holly about $2 million in claims as a result of the tornado which ripped through the southeast Colorado community last week.

Colorado's largest insurer of homes and motor vehicles, State Farm said it has received about 100 claims for damage to homes, businesses and motor vehicles from the March 28 storm.

"We have been taking care of customers affected by the tornado in Holly since damage reports began coming in late Wednesday night," said Scott Holt, zone catastrophe coordinator for State Farm in Greeley.

"People buy insurance for situations like this, and we are doing all we can to help them when they need us the most," Holt said in a prepared statement.
