Firm holds BPO training convention

(Business World (Philippines) Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) The training convention held recently by TeleDevelopment Services, Inc. (TDS) gathered around 200 delegates from major contact centers and business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.



Speakers at the two-day event included Mike Lopez of Convergys Philippines, Cesar Suva of Sykes Philippines and Brady Wheeler of ACS Philippines.

The convention, which had the theme "The 3 P's of Peak Performance: People, Programs, and Projects," featured three tracks, each focusing on a single aspect usually covered in training.



The people track tackled issues involving trainer and trainee, such as effective coaching, facilitating trainer-trainee interaction, building the training team's collective strength, and avoiding common training mistakes.

The programs track, meanwhile, delved into the training metrics, how to design low-cost training programs and better measure their effectiveness, and how to protect intellectually property in accordance with local and international laws.

The projects track discussed language assessment trends, applying the Six Sigma principles in a contact center setup. It also touched on migration of training modules into the new digital format, training follow- up, and experiential learning.

TDS conducts training, human resource outsourcing, management recruitment and consulting services to service the needs of contact centers and BPO companies.

It also operates in the United States, Japan, China and the Dominican Republic.
