NIST - ATIS 16th Annual Workshop on Synchronization in Telecommunications Systems (WSTS) Features Scientists from Symmetricom
SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Symmetricom, Inc. Co-sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions' Optical Transport and Synchronization Committee (ATIS OPTXS), the purpose of WSTS 2007 is to provide an industry-neutral forum on synchronization. Effective synchronization is the backbone supporting important revenue-generating services such as IPTV and VoIP.

The theme for WSTS 2007 is "Convergence...The Next Step." Attendees of WSTS 2007 are gathering to discuss the challenges and potential solutions facing sync in telecom including IEEE-1588, carrier-class NTP and synchronous Ethernet.
