Wateen Telecom, part of Warid Telecom International, is using Motorola's WiMAX
"We set ourselves very ambitious targets and timelines," commented Tariq Malik, chief executive officer, Wateen Telecom in a statement to the press. "Having Motorola design, supply and deploy our WiMAX network has given us a world class network in minimal time. At the same time, we have been able to focus on building other parts of our business. Similarly Motorola is taking control of the network on our behalf under a managed services contract."
According to the news release, Motorola has designed and deployed its WiMAX infrastructure, using IMS
